Do you want to integrate, teach, or train The Color Code within your business, counseling practice, or classroom? We offer you the opportunity to do so through our Training and Licensing Programs. Please review the following material for acceptable and unacceptable uses of our product and services, and solutions we provide you for proper training.
ACCEPTABLE USES of The Color Code Personality Test:
- Forwarding the Color Code Personality Test to whomever you'd like to take it
After taking the test, you will have the opportunity to invite friends and family to take the test and see what color they are.
- Review Sessions and Discussion
We allow our material to be discussed and reviewed in brief forums not to exceed 15 minutes, where a facilitator is simply guiding a discussion versus teaching or presenting the material. This includes book reviews and book-club discussions.
- Limited Educational Purposes
Abiding by the Fair Use Clause, we allow portions of our material to be used strictly for educational purposes.
- Limited Nonprofit and Religious Organization Use
Permission may also be granted in some cases to nonprofit or religious organizations based on the nature and extent of its use. We ask that you submit a written request via the Permissions Request Form.
UNACCEPTABLE USES of The Color Code Personality Test:
- Formally Teaching or Training our Material Without Licensing and Certification
Administration of the Test in professional training programs, workshops, seminars, or keynote speeches, is strictly prohibited. See our Training Solutions section below for alternative training options.
- Use as a Hiring Tool
The Color Code Personality Test may not in any way be used or administered as a hiring tool unless properly certified. If you are interested in learning more about our hiring tools, please email your questions to HLAI@thecolorcode.com.
- Teaching a class or lecture on The Color Code
While portions of our material may be used on a permission-basis, we do not allow classes, courses, or lectures to be taught on our material without proper training/certification.

PERMISSION
University/College/Educational Institution request for copy from a Hartman Communications' book or related material:
Permission can be granted to you, an individual user of this site, after written authorization is provided by Hartman Communications (see Permission Request Form), for a University, College, or other educational institution. Use of a specified number of pages and copies will be permitted, possibly subject to a fee, as approved by Hartman Communications' Legal Services' Department. Permission is granted subject to the following terms and conditions:
- The Hartman Communications' material is used for less than five percent (5%) of the entire course or presentation.
- The material is utilized as supplemental material only.
- Use of a Hartman Communications book, including The Color Code: A New Way To See Yourself, Your Relationships, and Life, as a textbook for an educational course by anyone who is NOT a certified Color Code instructor is prohibited. Contact Hartman Communications to learn more about becoming licensed to facilitate within your institution (see Trainer Certification).
- The Color Code Personality Test, as seen in Chapter 2 of The Color Code: A New Way to See Yourself, Your Relationships, and Life, is NOT to be copied and administered. Profiles can be taken for free online at www.thecolorcode.com or hard copies may be purchased from Hartman Communications at a discounted price for educational institutions. - After permission is granted for a specified number of copies, the following notice must appear on the first page of each copied packet of pages: Excerpted from [Book Title] by [Author], © [Date and Name of copyright owner]. Reprinted with permission from Hartman Communications, www.hartmancommunications.com. All rights reserved. Any copying of this material is strictly prohibited.

Quotes
- The quote is less than fifty (50) words and does not include Hartman Communications' trademarks.
- The quote is used as less than five percent (5%) of the entire work in which it will appear.
- The quote is used within text or as a stand-alone quote as long as the quote does not appear as a chapter heading, title, on the book cover, on product packaging, or on marketing pieces.
- The quote is not used in any manner that is taken out of content or misrepresents the intended meaning of the author.
- Proper acknowledgement to the author and source of the quote (book, article, etc.) must be included with the quote.
- Use of a Hartman Communications' model or graphic in connection with a quote is prohibited without further written authorization from Hartman Communications.

Nonprofit or Religious Organizations
In some cases, permission is granted to nonprofit or religious organizations based on the nature and extent of their desired use. Please submit your written request as specified above via the Permissions Request Form.
Book Study Groups and Reviews
BOOK STUDY GUIDELINES
Follow Hartman Communications' Study Group Guidelines to hold a study group of any Hartman Communications' book:
- An actual study group has all participants equally contributing to the discussion. There should not be one individual conducting a training or overview.
- Individuals should purchase their own materials for personal use. If the organization provides the books or materials, they are given to the participants for their personal use free of charge.
- The study group should not be mandatory. Participants should not be required to attend as part of their job performance review.
- The study group should be held on a one-time-only basis, i.e., all in one evening, two 2-hour sessions, four 1-hour sessions, or, for Educational Institutional use, up to 5 percent (5%) of the entire class time.
- The study group should be held on participant's personal time, not during business hours.
- The participants should not pay or be paid to attend.
- No Hartman Communications' materials should be reproduced in any manner for this book study without separate written permission (see Permission Request Form) from Hartman Communications.

BOOK REVIEW GUIDELINES
Follow the Hartman Communications' Book Review Guidelines to offer a book review on a Hartman Communications' book:
- No one should be paid to attend or to offer the book review.
- The reviewer should not be a "teacher" or "presenter" of the book content.
- The book review should be brief, not to exceed 15 minutes in length.
- Copies are not permitted without written authorization from Hartman Communications.
- The following information should be shared:
- State the author, book title, and any relevant background information on the author, period, and/or genre.
- Give a very brief summary of the book.
- Share your personal experience with the book content.
- Comment on the author's style and effectiveness of the presentation of the information in the book.
- Conclude with how the book content is relevant to you personally.
